Hi! I'm DeeDee!
If you ask anybody how to live a healthy life, they would probably tell you to eat vegetables, rest, and stay hydrated. While all of those things are great and certainly necessary, I can tell you from experience that those things alone will not make you healthy or happy. Stress from work, relationships, kids, and finances can impede even the most dedicated kale smoothie drinker. My approach to health is more integrative. I believe that in order to be truly healthy, we need to find balance in every aspect of our lives, not just exercise and nutrition. My hope is that by sharing my health journey, I will inspire people to take action towards becoming the best versions of themselves.
I've always considered myself "healthy," but after having two children and a stressful career, my needs were put on the backburner. As a result, I dealt with painful reoccurring back and neck sprains, a struggling marriage, and relentless anxiety. On some days it felt impossible to get out of bed due to the weight of it all. On the outside, everything looked fine, but on the inside was a whole different story.
In December of 2016, I resigned from my full-time career without a clear plan of what was ahead. I knew a lot about what I didn't want in life, but almost nothing about what I did want. I volunteered with different organizations, attended networking events, and read A LOT of books. I relied heavily on instinct and inspiration to determine every next step. Eventually, I found myself immersed in the health and wellness community. I lost 15 pounds by adopting a plant-based diet and began to see not only my life change but friends and families too! I talked to many people in my local health community whom I admired and many told me I would make a great coach. I took their kind words seriously and enrolled in The Institute of Integrative Nutrition and so began my health coaching journey!
Ultimately I want to help others become the best versions of themselves in every aspect of their lives. I know how hard it is to develop and maintain a healthy lifestyle and balance, especially with little ones, but I've seen over and over again how support, accountability, and guidance can make a HUGE impact.
I have completely turned my life around and it is my hope that you will let me help you do the same!
